Hubside, a specialist in the distribution of high-tech and digital products and services, has been named to the 2022 class of the French Tech Next40/120 programme, which each year supports the best French companies in the tech and industrial sectors. This appointment illustrates the exponential growth of the group, which has opted for the circular economy, local commerce and support for professionals in their digital transformation in the midst of a pandemic.
Hubside, technology for the circular economy
Since its creation, the group has specialised in the design and distribution of telephony, multimedia and digital services. Its keen sense of innovation and its ability to adapt to changing consumer trends have enabled it to diversify into many areas of the technological world.
Originally, Hubside is a website creation service 100% made in France that allows everyone, individuals, companies, associations, beginners or experts in computer science, to create their own online space at a low cost and without any technical knowledge required. Whether it is to share a passion, projects, events or to digitise one's commercial activity, Hubside accompanies users at every stage, from the creation to the launch of their website, by telephone, online or directly in the shop.
In 2020, Hubside diversifies and launches a concept of shops focused on supporting connected life and the circular economy: Hubside.Store. The distribution network specialises in the sale of new and refurbished smartphones and multimedia products, coupled with complementary services: Hubside's website creation service, an in-store repair & recycling space, the Pass'Location to rent connected and urban mobility devices (cars, electric scooters, video game consoles, karts, drones...), an "all risks" insurance... The reconditioned products sold in its shops are collected in shops and reconditioned in its own repair centre located in France (in Romans-sur-Isère), in a short circuit.
By 2021, the brand has opened 100 points of sale in major cities in France and Europe. This is a major challenge for the brand in this period of pandemic, which plans to expand into new territories and reach 500 shops by 2023. Last year, the group achieved €1.1 billion in business volume and aims to reach €1.26 billion in sales by 2022.
1,500 permanent jobs open in France, especially to young people
Today, the Hubside group is present in 6 countries and has set up its headquarters in France (Romans-sur-Isère, Roanne, Paris), Barcelona and Geneva. 3,000 employees have already joined the adventure, including 200 work-study students integrated into the "Hubside.Store Academy" work-study programme. In 2022, the group plans to recruit more than 2,000 new employees in Europe, including 1,500 in France, especially developers, with many positions open to young people.
Hubside, international ambitions
In 2022, the brand's ambition is to strengthen its territorial presence in order to meet its objective of providing a local service that promotes the circular economy and supports the connected lives of Europeans, whether they are individuals or professionals. 100 new shops will be opened, bringing the total number of outlets to 200 by the end of the year, an ambitious rollout supported by launches in Germany and Italy, among others.
Its services will be enriched, in particular by supporting professionals in their digital transformation, thanks to its Business offers, which will be enhanced to manage and boost their online activities, not forgetting support for private individuals through services encouraging more responsible consumption and extending the life of high-tech appliances.
